That last part is the key. He wants to stay. After enough temporary exits to lose count, there is no appetite for another stop-gap move.

Calvin Ramsay Loan Spells Solved Nothing

Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Kilmarnock all came and went. None of those spells gave Ramsay the sustained minutes required to build any momentum. Injuries wrecked parts of his time at Preston and Bolton, and the later moves did little to restore his standing.

Last season summed it up. Liverpool had problems at right-back and still he was overlooked. Arne Slot preferred makeshift options, including midfielders filling in, rather than trust Ramsay with meaningful minutes. That told its own story.
